Pumpkin Centerpiece Ideas & Decor

Pumpkin centerpieces are great decor ideas for the holidays, weddings, and more. If you are looking for something different or something that will make a lasting impression with your guests look no further. The great thing about pumpkins is that they come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. With the simple addition of live succulents, cactus, moss, etc you can create a beautiful pumpkin centerpiece that requires little maintenance.

Our favorite choice when it comes to pumpkin wedding centerpieces and Thanksgiving pumpkin centerpieces are dreamy fairytale pumpkins. They come in a variety of colors: white, orange, green, etc. They also appear to last the longest due to the thick rind/skin of the pumpkin. And not to forget they great for cooking. We also love the small orange pumpkins called Jack-Be-Little and the small white pumpkins called Baby Boo.

You can almost forget about these stunning pumpkin centerpieces when it comes to care and maintenance. Simply lightly mist the moss every other week. If you are in a costal environment like California you can probably get away with just leaving it outside and let nature handle the rest.

If you want to learn how to make your own pumpkin centerpiece for the holidays join one of our upcoming Phoenix Pumpkin Workshops. Or better yet have us host your own private pumpkin workshop for family and friends or just a few of the girls for a girls night. Contact us for more details.

Kokedama (Bonsai) Workshop – Floral Design with Succulents

kokedama workshop

Kokedama is an old artform of flora design originating out of Japan over 500 years ago. It is often referred to as the poor man’s bonsai. Instead of a pot, moss is used as a container for planting. The focus for this upcoming workshop will be on utilizing succulents to create a living piece of art.

Join us at The Farm at South Mountain to make a one of a kind Kokedama. The class includes all the materials to make two kokedama to take away (perfect for gifts/birthdays). Participants will have the option to create hanging ‘string gardens’ and/or pairing with a piece of slate/stone for the base. Care and maintenance will also be covered in the class.

Note: you may have too much fun playing in the dirt with family and friends, so please dress accordingly (or bring an apron).”
